Two things for which the comic strip Gasoline Alley was famous were that the characters grew older in real time and the traditional autumn color walk. Here Roger Clark Art has collected a run of these walking these strips by Frank King from 1923-1950. Seeing them presented in such a way the reader gets an excellent feel for both of these simple and effective features.

Cool retro-futurist travel posters by artist Steve Thomas. These would make cool stickers to put on your suitcase, too.

TV Viewing Leads to Reading

How could a kid go wrong with ABC's Funshine Saturday? Where else could you see Dr. Shrinker? Growing up with TV Guide every week, I loved finding this place showcasing the crappy ad art. When I miss the magazine art of the past, I miss seeing the the bad stuff as well. But not as much. Come on. Much of the time, these ads reflect the print equivilent of the creativity and panache that went into the shows themselves.
